How to stand out as a new business owner

There is no denying that the online and social sphere is getting more and more saturated with new business ventures, service providers and small businesses.

Especially in recent years as people were locked inside for months at a time, finding new passions to fill their time. These passions may have quickly turned into full blown business ventures in the blink of an eye with the rise of Tiktok marketing and such. It is truly an exciting time!

If you are only just joining the bandwagon then you may have fears that you are too late, and you may be thinking why should I bother if the world wide web is full already?!

Have no fear though, there is room for all of us!

You just have to learn how to stand out rather than sink to the depths of beyond.

I have put together a few tips to help you stand out as a new business owner in 2021, in hopes to encourage you to not give up on pursuing your dream life. Because after all, you deserve to live the life of your dreams.

Number one:

Do not be a cookie cutter.

If you know that the market is saturated, then do not follow the crowd! Niche down completely, think about a specific person you would like to market towards, and figure out a key defining feature of your business from there!

Being a niche player is way more beneficial to you in the long run. You will build up a loyal following of customers or clients that want exactly what you are selling. And they will keep coming back for more if you stick to what makes you unique.

This moves us nicely on to..

Number two:

Be a real person.

Consumers like to know the face behind the brand, to know who it is they are buying from and why.

So show up consistently, show your face, show your process, show your good days, show your not so

good days. We all crave human connection.

As I keep saying, you are unique. There is something about you that makes you entirely different to everyone else. What is it? What can you offer that no one else can? Search for it, nurture it. Then sell it.

Number three:

Fail. And fail again.

Take risks! Nothing good ever came from within your comfort zone.

Try something, document it. It may be a win, or it may be a learning curve. And people love to see either of those options. It's all down to the human connection again, people being invested in other people's success or failure. We are all just nosey after all!
