Mindset shifts to accept gratitude ♡

Gratitude, by definition, is 'the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness'.

Why practice gratitude?

Well, good question I hear you ask.

Not only does showing gratitude on a daily basis feel amazing for your mind and those around you, it helps you see the world in a more positive light. There may be 110 things you feel are going wrong around you, but if you are stead-fast in the ones that you are grateful for then the bad things won't harm you so much.

It is so easy to slip into a pattern of negative thinking when:

  1. You've had a bad day/week/month.

  2. You are in an unsupportive, negative environment.

  3. Your body and mind are completely closed off to positive thinking.

Now accepting gratitude doesn't have to be this monumental shift in your personality. By taking small steps on a daily basis you'll soon find yourself building gratitude into your daily practises without you even realising it.

Actionable steps you can take to accept and root gratitude into your life are...

--> catching yourself when you start talking to yourself in a negative manner. Think why do I feel this way and what would happen if I was more open-minded. By being open and grateful for opportunities and situations that you would usually be closed off to you are accepting new experiences and opportunities of learning into your life.

--> each morning think of/ list 3 things you are grateful for. Reflect on what and who you have around you, and what is to come in your life. This may feel difficult at first so here are a few prompts:

-a person you are glad to have in your life,

-your favourite song,

-a future event you're excited for,

-a possession you are most proud of,

-something positive about your body.

--> I strongly believe that we attract what we give out. If you are thankful to those around you and hold gratitude in your heart then you will attract those things from those around you as well. That old quote I used to love and post all over my Instagram 'your vibe attracts your tribe'. 😜

--> Lastly, before getting annoyed and fired up, take a breath, and put yourself in the other person's shoes. Seeing things from a different perspective always helps me realise why someone may have acted a certain way. It allows you to be grateful for your own situation and then feel proud that you didn't say anything you would later regret or make the other person feel worse. Take the high road.

I hope these tips have helped somehow, do subscribe to my blog to be the first to hear about a couple of life changing courses I am currently building. Do you need help re-aligning your purpose, refreshing your mindset and generally levelling up in life? I got you, watch this space.
